…you either can’t fall asleep or you’re in such a deep state of sleep, you don’t remember anything. You don’t know if you dreamt about something or someone, you may sleepwalk (which I don’t think I have done since junior high), or you do something else strange…and have absolutely no idea why.
This is a departure from my normal posts but I continue to be both confused and humored by the whole event, I thought I would share and see if anyone else is brave enough to admit that something similar may have happened to them. Hey, if you can’t laugh at yourself, you are taking life way too seriously! ??
Wednesday night I fell asleep before 10:30 which is super early for me, and before I knew it, my eyes bolted open, heart pounding in a complete panic that I had overslept. Nope, no problem there as it was 5:25 a.m.; alarm not due to go off until 5:30.
Whew, okay so all is well, but something else is not quite right and I can’t put my finger on it. I wipe the sleep from eyes and suddenly it hits me—where are my pants? I went to sleep with yoga pants and a t-shirt on, and now it’s just a big t-shirt. Now before your mind goes places it shouldn’t ?? I am a single woman with no one in my room but me. Normally when I wake up in the middle of the night, it’s because I am having a hot flash and throwing off blankets and I will be awake for a good 30-60 minutes. Apparently, not this time.
I look around and there are my pants, and get this: they aren’t inside out or crumpled in a ball. In fact, they were neatly folded. So at some point, I got up, took them off, and had the courtesy to fold them. What?!!!
I have been pondering this for a day and a half now. I have no answers but it gives me the giggles each time it pops into my head.
So my friends, I ask you, is anyone else brave enough to share? It’s fascinating how our brains function amidst chaos, stress, frantic paces and sleep deprivation!
If you don’t want to share, I respect that. Hopefully you at least get a chuckle out of my “Case of the Missing Pants”.
Happy Friday and have a fantastic weekend!
